President’s Message
May 30, 2008
Welcome to the Newfoundland & Labrador Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada. Thank you for taking the time to visit our updated web site.
While our national association has been making tremendous progress toward the vision of “being the recognized leader in world-class strategic supply chain management,” this is also a very exciting time for our Institute.
As an Institute, we are leading the introduction of the Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program (SSCMLP). With emphasis on integrative thinking, strategic analysis and decision-making, our new accreditation program for the C.P.P. designation demonstrates the broader scope of competencies and skills that make up our profession’s body of knowledge.
The introduction of this program has given us the opportunity to partner with the Gardiner Centre (formerly Centre for Management Development) to deliver our modules and interactive work-shops. We are the first Institute to partner with such a respected university business faculty for the delivery of the new C.P.P. accreditation program.
The Newfoundland & Labrador Institute is proud to have hosted the 2008 National Conference for the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, held May 21 to 23 at the Fairmont Newfoundland in St. John’s. The volunteer committee spent countless hours preparing to host 600 of our colleagues at the premier event for supply chain management professionals. Based on the feedback we received, it was indeed worth the effort. We thank all of our sponsors for their support, as well as all of the supply chain professionals who participated in this event. It was a fantastic week of education and networking!
Please take this opportunity to look through our web site to learn more about our provincial Institute, as well as the progressive evolution taking place in our national association. With the many changes occurring at all levels, this promises to be an exciting time to be an active member of the Newfoundland & Labrador Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada!
Yours in Supply Chain Management,
