The Newfoundland & Labrador Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada is very pleased to introduce its newest Certified Professional Purchasers (C.P.P.s). These five individuals have completed all the requirements of the C.P.P. accreditation program, including the two-day national exam written in June of this year.

The C.P.P. designation sets the national standard for excellence in supply chain management in Canada. It is the most sought-after achievement in the profession. A comprehensive accreditation program certifies that the C.P.P. has attained the highest level of competency. Adherence to a national code of ethics ensures the highest level of integrity.

With procurement, operations, logistics and all areas of supply chain management playing an increasingly important role in organizations, more employers are seeking skilled professionals to do the job, and PMAC is providing the training required to achieve the C.P.P. designation.

The new designation holders are Colin Howlett, C.P.P., Central Dairies Ltd, Stan Lewis, C.P.P., NSB Offshore Ltd, Glenn Morris, C.P.P., Atlantic Lottery Corporation, Deanne Piercey, C.P.P. Eastern Health, and Doug Sharpe, C.P.P., Newfoundland & Labrador Housing Corporation.

The certificates were presented by Mike Whelan, C.P.P., President of the Newfoundland & Labrador Institute of PMAC at the Annual General Meeting held in St. John’s on September 11.
